How much you want to bet that pharmaceutical companies will buy out all these ideas. They want to surpress this stuff, not proliferate it. They have so much lobbying power.
here's a conspiracy theory for you. Maybe the conservatives are so against stem cell research is because it actually can cure disease and not just treat it.
The big business of pharmaceuticals, who is a major backer of the rep party doesnt want to see cures, but rather costly treatments. It's quite possible this is why there is such a "moral" dilema with stem cells--because by putting a moral and religious spin on it, it covers up who is actually stifeling the progress.
