P4 2.6ghz can achieve around 5400 MFlops, where-as a 1.66ghz Centrino gets roughly 5000-5100 MFlops, so it's not quite as fast in terms of grunt 'speed', but since it's far more energy efficient and so little heat it produces... the Centrino is a much better choice. I would really love to test a centrino duo chip soon and compare it to the Conroe's
