I'm pretty sure there isn't any real hard-set conversion, but because of the higher operations per clock cyle, a 1.6Ghz Centrino will roughly perform the same to a P4 2.4-2.6Ghz processor. What?s really impressive about the Centrino is that it only pulls around 14watts, where-as a 2.6ghz P4 pulls almost 83 watts!

The newer centrinos (the ?core duos?) are even faster, and only use about 25 watts.

The Centrino chip is awesome? was a blowback to the PIII chips lol, Intel did something right for once and totally kicked AMD?s ass in the mobile department.
