no you can't boost your traffic. they only want organic traffic. One day, one of my dormant domains got a blast of traffic from some radio show... totally out of my control... it lasted for a few days, but it became an "issue", and rightly so. I assume they don't want to ruin any relationship they have with their search partners, especially over me... in the end they let me keep the revenue, about $500+, but I think that particular domain is monitored closely now and I may not get a credit for another burst of "accidental" traffic.
