Perhaps some was bought, but much of it was taken by immigrant settlers. When the British started to get pissed off and tried to stop the flow of "illegal" immigration, and the Arabs presently living there got REALLY pissed off their land was being stolen and began attacking the settlers, Zionist terrorist organizations like the Irgun began attacking the British and Arab resistance... continuing to flood the country with illegal Jewish settlers in order to gain more influence in an attempt to establism a Jewish homeland. Some land may have been bought, much of it had been taken by force.
What did the Irgun later become? Likud. And the IDF formed from the hagganah, another terrorist organization. A government made up of terrorists, complaining about terrorists.
