That's a really stupid thing I ever heard. Any NORMAL (not a wife-for-money whore) Russian woman as well as any other woman will decide to live with her man enywhere. She won't care if it in Russia or somewhere else. For instance, my wife prefers to live with me here in Moscow.
As about neighboures are alcoholics and drug addicted... I don't know what country do you mean. But according to the official stats, the USA is on 1st place in the world by the number of alcoholics and drug addicted people. I was also working with UK guys for a rather long period. So I can say that no one Russian could drink as much as the UK guys did and stay alive. Thus stop thinking with stereotypes. I even think you never was in Russia and everything you are trying to tell us you saw on TV...
