Found a kitten last night

We were coming home last night at like 1am when we heard this crying in the bushes in the building next to us. I squat down and see this tiny face meowing at me...

I put out my hand flat and talked softly to it and it came right up to me.. B said aw, we have to bring it in..I agreed. We already have 3 cats, but I'd never leave an animal out to get run over or worse...So we brought her in and fed her (she was hungry!). B ran to get some more litter and we set her up on the patio quarantined from our other cats. She used the litter box every time and was fine. This morning we flyered the neighborhood, put in a classified ad in the newspaper, and left a description with the Tri County Humane Society.

It has to be someones pet, to be so people friendly, litter trained, and just sweet. She's not spayed or declawed. I'm scared someone moved and left her behind. But they have been repainting the buildings and alot of patio screens are torn out. I really want to find her owner!

Here's a pic:

I'll probablly take her to our cat vet tomorrow to get her checked out, I can't risk letting her mingle with our 3 purebreds. I guess my only option is to wait a week and keep putting up posters and then try and find her a home. I won't take her to the Humane Society unless I have to, but we REALLY DON'T WANT another cat. Damn curve balls in life! All I can say is this is one lucky kitty to find really nice and caring cat people. She is very calm and sweet, finding her a home shouldn't be hard, but finding her true owner would be AMAZING! Wish us luck!

Part II

Found a Kitten...Followup

Our neighbor girl (and roomates) who actually live in the apartment we found it next to, offered and then asked to take care of it until either the owner is found or indefinitely. (With our 3 cats going crazy, in Fl I felt bad about keeping it on the patio, even with a fan).

We hooked her up with everything it needs (litter box, litter, food, toys, etc) for the next few days. The ad will run through thrusday and the signs will be up for the next 2 days at least, and the Humane Society has a logged description/lost pet report..so I feel I've done all I can do.

We gave the girl a "kitten care" talk (I've raised 5 in 5 years..don't ask) and she can walk (or shout) or call if she has questions, and she agreed that if we find the owner (who will call US), she has no problem handing her over.

Yeay! 24 hour kitty rescue!

Part III

Found a Kitten: Followup Final - Found Owner

I AM &%$!@ FURIOUS!

Just got a call from the owner. He said they have 3 cats and his 'roommate' didn't want it so he let it out. He said the girls we gave it to can keep it (they live below him) and thanks for finding a home for it.

I want to report this &%$!@ to the ASPCA for abandonment.

To make it worse, he works for our apartment complex as a groundskeeper and is one of the aparments we left hand written notes at their doors at 3am Sat night. He calls us NOW (monday)???

I want to let management know about this asswipe. Scumbags!!!

But, the kitty is safe, the new owners are estactic and things worked out for the best. Slashing his tires wont help the situation but I really really am glad to have done the right thing here and protected the little guy and found him a home. I don't want to ruin that by throwing negativity into the mix.

BUT HIS TIME IS COMING...KARMA'S A BITCH!!!

Kitty found home, owner didnt want it, SPCA charges you to put it up for adoption and puts you through rigors and makes you feel about 3 inches tall. Anywho... tis all good
