I despise toasted oak Napa is notorious for. I had a bottle of Rudd 2001 (Red label) for dinner....and toasted oak just kills me!

The 2000 was much tastier young but the 01 is good. its definately a different style but I've had too many flat french wines to chase them.
I popped a Leoville Las Cases 1994 two nights ago, after a 2 hour decant, the nose came along but the taste never did.
Oh, and my current favorite cali is Peter Michael Les Pavots. (bordeaux style blend. haha
