Yes, I'm sure boy is very common in the gay world. I was talking in general. Straight guys do not call themselves or refer to themselves as boys, ever. A boy is someone immature, weak, someone striving to become a man, etc.
Women is the plural of woman. Those are equivalent to men and man. That does not fit into the boy/guy equation. As somebody mentioned above, the female equivalent is girl/gal, but gal is very rarely used.
