I've seen the shuttle before docking and after disembarking the space station. First the space station flew over, then a couple minutes later we saw the shuttle.
If the shuttle launches July 1 I won't see it here at home (Los Angeles) - but maybe I'll get to see it when I'm out of the country.
Gravity Probe B makes frequent flyovers...but is not nearly as bright as the space station.

Did you use a telescope from LA to see that? I would figure the LA skies are even worse than Vegas as regards viewing with the naked eye anyhow.
...Yup I'll be looking for the shuttle on July 1, I think the docking is July 3. I gotta make it to a launch one of these days. Vandenburg has them about every other month I believe, for various satellites.
