Does something like this not work for you: http://www.jmbsoft.com/software/arphp/
Users are given code to link to you which is the only downside to the software but you can easily remedy that with a bit of custom scripting if you wanted them to use simply www.domain.com instead of www.domain.com/arphp/in.php?id=username
