Just got my new VISA card. Paysite owners might find this interesting... why?

I got a new business account a while back from Lloyds TSB, after closing one with the Bank of Scotland. The VISA card arrived Friday morning.

Earlier today I successfully added the card to a PayPal account, placed some ads using Google keywords, and signed up for some small virtual hosting account for a project I'm working on.

Felt like watching a bit of porn... so tried to join Adult Bouncer.

iBill declined the card. No problem. Go for the secondary processor. Card declined.

Next best thing? Deluxe Pass. Went direct to their join page, to join via Paycom.net. Card declined. Sent to CCBill as secondary. Card declined. Then directed to an iBill page... card declined.

This was getting pretty ridiculous, so I decided to try a site using Glo-bill to see if it would work. Tried Darren's site. Card declined.

Personally, I can think of no reason why this happened. UK isn't a "high risk" country. The account is brand new, a business account with a solid balance. The card is new. I've never had a VISA card before, only Switch and Solo cards, which were debit cards. I've never had a loan in the past, no owed money on my accounts and no outstanding payments (basically, I have no credit history).

I have no idea why this happened, but the card was declined by iBill, CCbill, Globill and Paycom. Yet, it was accepted by Google, Paypal and a $5/month host.

Makes me wonder.
