I took jeet kune do for a couple years.

a lot of the posts here are (from what i know) about methods that are more aggressive.

jkd is highly passive and pretty much will only teach you to block and attack when the attacker is on the assault. you won't learn any methods for first strike.

if this interests you, jkd is very easy to learn and doesn't require much physical strength (there were many women in my classes) to become very effective in protecting yourself and disarming an attacker.
