even cashier's checks can be fake...

my father faxed me a copy of the bogus cashier's check he just got from a buyer in North Carolina who wants to buy his car in South Florida...with a cashier's check that was mailed from the buyer's accountant in New York from a bank that only has locations in Washington state.

hmmmm...scam perhaps

They wanted my father to give the overage of the cashier's check ($3,000) to the buyer's local shipper.
