"Spawn o'Kentucky, Kinghorse's demo was delivered to Caroline by Mr. Glenn Danzig hisself, who went on to produce this here LP and got Pushead to do the cover! Foster-fatherhood aside, these fellas take traditional punk ideas and add a progressive metallic punch, and while that may initially sound like a done-before type of thang, Kinghorse are one of the grittiest bands to spew forth this year. Vocalist Charlie (or Ratt or whatever he happens to be calling himself today) is a certified freak, yet he holds the band together, going from melodies to shrieks on the stop of a dime. Drummer Kevin lays down a solid beat while punching tight fills, adding extra dimension to the band. Kinghorse delivers everything promised and then some. Picks: "Caged," "Red," "Razor" and "Clay Fist."
