Internet New Zealand is to raise concerns about the failed bid for an internet red light zone with the global internet regulatory body, ICANN.
ICANN voted to delay ratifying the proposed new top level domain XXX at its meeting in Wellington in March, before rejecting it outright last month.
ICANN meets in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh on Friday, and Internet New Zealand's Executive Director Keith Davidson will table a letter there detailing unease over how the decision was reached.
He says that includes the issue of the heavy pressure on ICANN from the US Commerce Department, which opposed the dot-triple-x applicaton.

It needs to be pointed out to this guy that the policy states (as written by the proposed .xxx registrars themselves!) that it is approved by the adult industry.
Let him know this isnt the case. He is getting his knickers in a twist because he thinks the US govt is calling the shots, let him know there is a bigger picture.
Tabling a letter like this means that it will be debated all over again and could cause problems.
