You should ask your doc to do a strep test and a monostat test. I would recommend that you get some blood work done to check your white blood cell count- this will help determine if you have a viral or bacterial infection. It looks .like your doc will prolly prescribe some antibiotics and prednisone(If he feels that your body cant fight the infection naturally). Good luck
