No, but then again, German soldiers did not have the choice whether to join the army or not. A great-uncle of mine got executed for refusing to join the army, actually.
On the other hand, the entire SS (which was basically a group of elite volunteer soldiers) was later deemed a "criminal organization", and thousands of its members were executed simply for being in the SS. Ironically, another great-uncle of mine, the brother of the other one, got executed for being in the SS.
