My opinion is that BMW is going downhill regards to the looks of their cars ever since ~1994. I've owned nothing but older bimmers in the past 4 years and driven many new ones. The newer ones are great cars, but don't look anywhere near as good, and don't have that strong BMW character like the older ones do. Some of my favorites models are the E28, E30 and E24 with the E24 M6 being the all time favorite. (would post some pics, but the board isn't letting me post urls yet
