There is nothing wrong with calling the US - the "United States" either, because that's what it is. If you wish to name youself something else like any other country - feel free to do so. "America" is already taken - that's a continent. |
I bet when you look at maps of the world and see areas labelled "North America" and "South America" you think the words north and south are there to remind you of which way the magnetic poles of the earth lie, don't you?
