It sounds like a smart move to get them in for a cheap price and then get them to upgrade if they want the real stuff.
I know babylon-x has been doing it for years .....
But I also think you are correct when you say it's a bit of a ripoff, if they give you as little content as you said.... Hmm tough one, might be worth a try though.
