Also, for those that came to the party, thank you for sharing in the fun with us. XVN.com paid for everything (except for the buses).
This party almost didn?t happen about 3 different times the week before Cybernet and up until the day before the event. At one point the official word at Cybernet was that we weren?t going to do a party. After seeing so many disappointed faces I pulled out all of my old Diego resources (with KB?s help). Not only did we come through with a party, we got an incredible venue suited for our crowd (around 200 to 250 webmasters) with the live reggae band of my choice, Diego Roots. The drinks were free all night thanks again to XVN.
I?d love to thank the companies that provided the buses for the night, I know of a couple but I don?t want to mention names until I know for sure who all of the companies are that pitched in. That was money! Cole was the man who put a ton of effort into rounding up the companies supplying that, so thanks again Cole.
We also had a nice fireworks show complimentary of the San Diego Padres game next door. Thanks Padres!
The music was a cross between Sublime and 311. Although we couldn?t pull off the type of sound system I?m used to providing, my sound guy rocks and figured out the perfect balance of bass, guitar and drums, sounded perfect for a room of that size. The DJ was pretty good as well, he?s no DJ Evan, but he was still pretty good. I?m extremely happy we got that band with such short notice.
It was great seeing everyone under one roof away from the hotel, drinking and having fun.
The funny thing is, yeah, this party had last second problems with huge hurdles to get past. But these hurdles are nothing compared to the hurdles I go through for the January Players Ball. I guess it toughened me up. Giving up is for pussies.
Again, thanks again to everyone who came and especially Cybernet and XVN.
Stay tuned for our next party in Las Vegas for the XBiz show, July 13th is out date. Looking for a few good sponsors, hit me up if interested, theplayersball at gmail.com

Darren... standing there watching Diego Roots play in a great club, great atmosphere and knowing what you had to go thru to make that evening happen nearly brought a tear to my eye.
To say that putting this show together was the most challenging to pull off is 100% correct. More on that later this week.... big time.
In the meantime to you, KB, Cole, XVN and everyone who busted their ass at the last minute to save Sat. night when the anti porn gods were clearly frowning down on all of us...
THANKS
