The actual reason why there is mass hysteria over kids and the internet is because this is the first time ever that parents have gotten a glimpse into the true life of their kids.
Ten years ago the only way to do it was to read their diary or set up a hidden video camera. Today's kids are serving their lives up on a platter when putting some of that stuff online, and parents are shocked by what they see.
I don't see what the big deal is though. You find me one single generation whose parents agreed with their values.
