That's a good choice. There might be too much going on there for you though.
The W Union square is my favorite overall because of location (the coolest in the city) and the rooms. The W - Tuscany and W - The Court both have better rates and equally nice rooms plus a very cool bar below as all of the W's in NY seem to.
If you don't want to stay at one of those go to
www.tablethotels.com and pick from their selection. It's the only way to be sure you are staying in a decent hotel in NY. Those other travel sites are for Japanese tourists or your mom. I think you can get a room at The Hudson for $229 on that site.
