Almost like they have been living under a rock...

I've had this discussion with my trainer, who cannot fathom the notion there are people who are clueless about nutrition. He believes, that on some level, they, deep down, know they are eating unhealthy foods..
I don't know if that's always true....so many blame genetics....nutrition is not exactly a priority in schools....the more I talk to people, the more I am convinced there are plenty who do not relate nutrition with the break down of the body's systems...
Maybe they are living under a rock; but, how many watch that particular television show or fit tv or other channels that address these issues...
I don't know if we're dealing with rationalisation or what..but it is, indeed, frightening....
My sister in law is one of those families...all four are overweight, morbidly so..and in her case, she does know she needs to do something...she has high blood pressure and high cholesterol..but she takes pills for it, rather than biting the bullet and clearing out her house of crap...going for a walk..
When I see the struggle these families endure with the tantrums as the sugary fattening foods are thrown away, I can almost understand the avoidance of going through the process of getting healthy....but those who endure, end up in much better shape in the long run...
This show is a must see for everyone...the pancreas and other essential organs can only take so much before they pay you back, big time...seems to me the struggle is worth the short term aggravation....for a long term benefit.
