All strategies against pirates

Hi gfyers,

DMCA takedown requests are time consuming and many time useless, some cases there is no even way to get in touch with the web master of a specific web site full of stolen content.

I'd like everybody to post here all tips and tricks to better handle the pirate issue, if we share all our experiences we might help each other, which would be nice

Also against theft helps:

1. complicate the theft process. for example, the issuance of temporary links, the separation of physical files and the issuance of them entirely only in the player. But of course this will not protect against targeted theft, but it can limit its number, because not all will can do it.

2. the economy works - complaints work best, in the system of payment acceptance. Accepting payments for stolen content is complicated.

3. complaints in Google and hosting to remove links or themselves stolen files.

All together gives a good effect, but at the moment there is no 100% protection against theft of digital content. There were attempts to introduce DRM, a rights management system, but they did not get accustomed to the video. But in games they took root.

The best protection is the constant need for the client to go for updates to your server and deliver content in small portions, as in social networks.

Then it will be more convenient for people to follow you, and not to collect stolen content on the Internet in pieces.

Thanks Adultium for this contribute, it's very good.

How come when there is no way to get in touch with site owners or even hosting providers?

Is there a legal way to force the site to close?

thanks!

Contacts are always there. You need to know them on the whois service.
For example here - whois.domaintools dot com

Even if the domain owner's contacts are hidden, you can always find who is the hoster and who is the domain registrar and start writing to them all, putting them all in a copy letter. Outside it will look like everything is quiet, but in fact inside the registrar and hoster, the owner will be given a complaint.

In this way, you will be able to remove most of the stolen content, except for very the bully hoster.

You can and should ask Google and other systems, remove links to the pirated site from the index.
