Best to embed or host vids for tube site?

Hey guys,

I recently started a tube site for an amateur niche. I've got a decent domain name and I'm using wordpress with the adultsiteskins skin and it's looking alright so far! I've also got some ads up from loadedcash, crakrevenue and juicy's mobile redirect. I only have 20 odd videos up at the moment, as I hand-pick each one and write a 100-150 word description for each, so it's time consuming (though I'm thinking of outsourcing the writing) - especially with a full time job!

I'm hoping that the quality of the videos + unique descriptions will encourage people to revisit and spread the word, as well as be favoured by Google.

Anyways, I had a query with regards to the hosting or the embedding of videos. Atm I have a basic package from hostgator (like 8 bucks a month or something) and I embed from the major tube sites, but I'm wondering if I should just switch to a bigger package and start to host my own videos. I do plan on becoming an authority site for this niche (whether that happens or not remains to be seen :P) so I'm wondering if I should just make the switch now, whilst I don't have that much of a backlog of videos. Or should I wait for a bit and see how things pan out?

If you do recommend hosting my own vids, what would be the best way to go about getting them? Atm most of my vids are just embedded from pornhub, would I just use a tube ripper - or are there better methods?

Ripping other tube sites for content is not the best idea.
You have no idea if they even have the rights to have that video up and if they have to remove it you also will have a blank video

Best to join a affiliate program and use their content embedded or even if you plan on hosting them.

I hadn't considered the legality of ripping content. I just assumed because its amateur and on a porn tube that allows it to be embedded that'd it be effectively free for others to use. A lot of the videos I'm using are found on more than one of the bigger sites as well.

I will looking into affiliate programs as well - thanks for the tip!

I'm doing the same like you for over than 3 years and I havent found any affiliate that converts. I do good with ad networks in my signature.

Thanks Rachel, I will keep that in mind.

I've decided to just stick with embedded videos for now. As long as I stick to the main porn tubes hopefully I won't end up with loads of broken links!
