Three projectors with edge blending software is the way to go. Anything else is amateur.

You will love it, trust me.

Buy a monitor that is exactly the same brand and model # if you can get it.

You will need a second dual-head video card in your computer, or at least a second single-head video card, but most are dual head. If you have the cash, swap the dual head card you have now out for a triple or quad. Expensive but super fast. You may need to upgrade your power supply too.

Good discussion on this here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/26...onitors-nvidia

If you want to do it a cheap way, you can get a USB to VGA Adapter for only $100.00 - no video card required.

I use 2 24" dell ultrabrights and I also regularly wish I had more space.. My problem with getting a third one is that I use really big reference monitor speakers (30lbs each speaker I think) and I feel like putting them that far apart would be purpose defeating.

I like my buddy's idea of waiting for the 84" 4k res TV's to come out and going full couch style.

Very true. I use 2 x iMac 27"s for a super-wide desktop, and have no need for a 3rd monitor. Even better you can operate them as 2 separate computers or combine them into 1 desktop with a single keystroke.

Here's my setup:
