US soldier kills Afghan civilians in Kandahar

A US soldier in Afghanistan has shot dead 15 civilians and wounded others after entering their homes in Kandahar province, Afghan and Nato sources say.

He reportedly left his base early in the morning to attack village homes. Nine children are among the dead.

The White House voiced "deep concern" and Nato-led forces in Afghanistan promised a rapid inquiry

The main thing in the story is that this was one person who had a mental breakdown before the incident. It's even in the report. However the afghan leaders are framing it as if it was "US forces" committing murder. Well, only because the man who went on a killing spree happened to be a soldier in that country. He'd have done it in America if he was stationed here and had his mental breakdown. This is one of those things where you can see by reactions where a leader stands. So far it looks like he wants there to be an uprising.

Afghanistan did not have a national Army so all combatants are civilians. How many of the 15,000 were not combatants? The Iraqi insurgents/combatants were civilians. How many of the 100,000 were not combatants? BTW...a large number of the 100,000 were killed by their fellow countryman. Probably the majority of them were not combatants. And speaking of, they are just defending their home and country. They are not combatants. They are fighting against people who are invading them. WE INVADED THEM. They are in the right, we are wrong. 100% in the wrong.

None of them deserved to die. Not one. Even those who were shooting at coalition troops did not deserve to die because that is the same thing you and I would do if they would have invaded us. We simplify it and call them "insurgents" but in reality they are doing what every American would do if we were attacked by an invading force.
