JOB SPOTLIGHT: Distribution Director

Distribution Director

Job purpose of Distribution director is responsible for implementing a distribution strategy which encompasses gathering marketing intelligence and leveraging product technology.

Key duties/responsibilities of Distribution director:

Develop relationships with key retailers

Play personal role in sales negotiations of major contracts.

Ensures accurate inventory maintenance and maintains timely distribution schedules.

Develops and executes to annual budget, including but not limited to expense and capital budgeting, planning, inventory (asset & product), cost controls, revenue and productivity objectives, and operational execution.

Develops strategy for improving key performance indicators including but not limited to on-time performance, damages, incident rates, overtime, cases per hour, cost per case, and accuracy. Reviews warehouse key performance indicators and communicates metrics to warehouse staff on a frequent basis.

Overall responsibility for managing Distribution Sales efforts for the Specialty Tape Division.

Achieve maximum levels of productivity, ensuring that the business benefits from the lowest possible cost and best value.

Develop Sales objectives, goals, strategies and measures (OGSM) for assigned area and confirm linkage to global business strategies.

Performs staff management and administrative duties of: training, performance evaluation, development.

Assists in the development of associate communications and ensures policy and programs are executed.

Responsible for clear, focused leadership to further reduce the barriers to delivering competitive advantage via global size and scale.

Actively engage in utilizing company best practices to increase efficiency and profit margins.

Translate market trends and customer needs into actionable goals that create competitive advantage.

Strategic Transformation and Long-term strategy development .
Develop and implement long-term Sales.

Define the value proposition to the market, customers and industry including service, price and product platform strategies for the distribution channel.

Set pricing strategies for the distribution channel, monitor pricing and profitability in collaboration with product line leaders .
