Just curious what the opinions are around here regarding PimpServer...

I've heard good things about pimpserver. I'd give them a shot

Yeah... I saw that in their TOS shunga... can't blame them, I've had some weird shit happen on my server here too with Japan surfers... (bizarre, freaky shit!) I've also noticed some TGPs have them on the blacklist. What's the deal with that? They seem reputable and it can't be their banners.. hell, there's hardly any.

I'm sorry shunga, I don't understand... how would visitors get fucked by a freehost? They don't use popups or anything like that, and if, for aguements sake let's say two weeks from now, they decide to fuck ME over by slapping gargantuan banners all over my stuff, I can pull my domain just as easily as I set it up... and go with someone else. So I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but what do you mean?

AYH, I assume he's talking about the Japanese traffic that pimpserver throws out. You're going to have a hard time finding a freehost that's not blacklisted by somebody ;-) |

fuckhost.net is not officially blacklisted by anyone, although places that don't accept free hosts will not list it for obvious reasons.

Yeah... I can understand the Japanese thing.. I had to ban an entire netblock of Japanese IPs to my server here because of the weird shit goin' on... but I don't understand the blanket blacklisting of freehosts unless the freehost themselves are doing something to deserve it. I think it should be done on a URL or maybe an IP basis, and report offenders to the freehost. Because if someone has a domain, they are much less likely to be fucking over TGP owners (such as myself) than someone that signs up a freehost account using their designated htttp;//www.freehost.com/members/sexystuffinhere/gallerydirectory/tgpstuff/imaschmuck/heresmygallery address. Know what I mean? That could be anyone... and is usually some dickhead trying to cheat the planet... but a domain can be traced back to the owner. So instead, we are ALL getting fucked, included us domain owners, because of a few.
I know I know... I need to wake up from my pipe dream now and get back to work. I guess in the end, the speed, no cost, and bandwidth are more important to me than falling into a group of pre-blacklisted people. I'll lose some listings that I'd really like to keep, but if that's the price, I suppose I too must pay it.
