ePassporte ? Official Statement

Over the past few weeks, ePassporte has been providing poor customer service. This has understandably been the topic of discussion on many webmaster boards. We have also seen a number of rumors spreading about the stability of our company, the safety of our Account Holders money and our involvement in illegal activity.

First and foremost, the team at ePassporte would like to apologize for the poor level of service you may have received. Our business has increased two fold and our Call Center is receiving four times the number of calls and emails than we had in the past. Our number one priority is the satisfaction of our Account Holders and we are making every effort to ensure we have the people in place to better service our customers. Below is a list of improvements ePassporte has made over the past month to meet this objective:
  • Each week ePassporte hires and trains a group of new Call Center Agents to answer Customer Service phone calls and emails.
  • Existing staff members are working overtime on evenings and weekends to help with the influx of new emails and calls while attempting to clear the backlog that has been created by this sudden growth.
  • Additional phone lines were added to our call center to facilitate the increased calls.
  • An IVR was added to our Call Center line to better manage and direct incoming calls.
  • Our Email system has been updated with specific categories to ensure our Account Holders issues are efficiently addressed.
It does not end with the above. Each day, we are making improvements to better handle the increase in calls and emails; however none of these changes will improve our level of service overnight. We expect to have our service back to acceptable levels in 2 to 3 weeks and until then we kindly ask for your patience during this time. We can only hope you will remain ePassporte Account Holders and understand that our poor service is not due to a lack of resources or effort, rather a staggering rise in volumes, which could not have been predicted.

Secondly, the funds in your ePassporte Account are safe. ePassporte has not been hacked. A very small group of Account Holders tell us their accounts were ?hacked? and funds were fraudulently removed. We have investigated all claims and found evidence that supports their passwords were compromised. Your ePassporte Account Password is stored by ePassporte using a one-way encryption algorithm making it impossible for anyone (including ePassporte) to gain access to it unless you disclose it to someone, have entered and/or stored it on a public computer or entered it on a Phishing site. To be safe, we urge all ePassporte Account Holders to change their passwords frequently.
Lastly, ePassporte is not involved in or has never been involved with illegal activity. We are compliant with the law and have a team of lawyers who monitor various new bills and regulations to ensure we remain compliant.

I hope this statement can put some of the rumors to rest and answer the questions you have about our company. Again, thank you for your continued support and your patience during this time.

Please understand that our growth is a positive factor. Our company and all of us on the ePassporte Team are excited about the growth of our business and our future. We hope that you will see, in time, that we are accomplishing our goals of better service in all areas.

The team at ePassporte is focused on answering emails and calls from customers so if you have any comments, questions or require assistance, I kindly ask that you send me an email: [email protected].

Thank You,

Michael

Good to hear that something is being done to improve customer service.

This is also good to hear.. Would hate to see epassporte go up shit creek.

Does this mean that you are going to refund the peopel that got ripped off because of your shitty security?

I can tell you that I will never more a single nickel through epass until you demonstrate that you have some greater level of concern for your customers. Contact me on ICQ and I will give you the details of a theft that was handled very poorly.

What about the reports that some Banks are refusing to wire money to Epassporte. I've had two people tell me that Bank Of America will not send funds to epass do to your involvement in gambling sites. Is there any truth to that?

Some banks will not allow accounts for valid, acceptable, and legal adult businesses.

BoA has a major reputation for having a stick up it's ass about anything like this.

I wonder how many people use the same password for epassporte as they do for their affiliate logins? You could be basically listing your "usual" password and your epassporte ID on X amount of programs, and I bet there's a lot of lazy people who have actually done this

This guy is full of shit!

If what all of you sheep were waiting on was an "official statement" so that you can breathe a sign of relief and then place your money right back in the purse of the thief then go right ahead.

Do you think that epass would come out and publicly state that they were hacked or worse that they have an employee feeding logins to his cousin in Taiwan? Of course not. They are gong to blow smoke up your ass and lead you down the primrose path long enough for you to be lulled into believing that the problems were not theirs.

I foretold the demise of MyVirTualCard/Paymonde long before they stole your money and ran and I am telling you that if you put your money in epass you are inviting the same problems that came from MVC/Paymonde = YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY.

Let me be the first to say: "I will no longer do business with epass. I will not send money nor will I receive money from people that use epass. I cannot in good conscious support a company that facilitates fraud."

I think this has been answered already... at least in terms of why I am calling BULLSHIT on epass.

I think you'll find that it's the fault of the account holders ... Sorry man, but ePass isn't going to accept responsibility for this because it's not their fault.

Hardly any ePass accounts have been compromised. Imagine how many ePass users there are. Then two or three come on here and say they've been hacked?

I think you gotta rethink what you're saying.

ePass is great

in your very honest, ethical, "stand up guy" opinion - is it legal to allow card holders to use epassporte for facilitating illegal online gaming transactions? if so, how might this affect epassporte users in the future if the government takes action against you?

one word: paranoia.

But, you have taken the course of action that is available to everyone if they dont want to use epass: you have chosen to not do any business with them.

Thanks for the statement Michael - We support you guys 100%

I've also had 3 biz accounts with BOA for the past 7-8 years and this is the only one that is adult. I've never had a problem but have considered moving the adult company out because of things i have heard in the past 6 months.

Been with BOA as a business account holder for almost 10 years now, and never had a problem with them.

Do I tell them what I do, fuck no, that's none of their concern.. They do their business, I do mine.
do yself a favor - and I do mean this in a friendly way - look out for another bank. I know at least 10 ppl whove been there and got kicked. Some after a week some after yrs. And then youre stuck, they freeze funds or all of sudden you have no spot to cash your checks anymore.

Get a bank thats ok with adult, talk bout percentages, fees and youll sleep a lot better.

Thanks for the statement Michael - We support you guys 100%
Paranoia?

Do you read this board... or any others?

People have had money stolen from their accounts and like many others I though it was stupidity/weak password/etc.. until it happened to a person that I know who has not used the account for ANY sponsor payments and has (had) a secure password.

It is not paranoia when the evidence points to epass facilitating theft either through direct actions or through weak security.

In a free world you have the option of securing your money any way that you see fit. You can trust it ti epass or you can put it in a paper bag. In my opinion trusting it to epass is as secure as puttin your wallet in the toe of your shoe on the beach. It will onlt be a matter of time before someone steals your shoes AND your money.

good to see epass has better lawyers than all the other e-wallet companies that bailed on the market under the new laws.

Ya man Im a n00b and I dont know anyone in this industry. Like I said - you've made your free world choice - and I still think you're being paranoid.

I can understand your situation and I tihnk it's kinda like this: Let's say there is a huge increase in the number of people getting hit by buses.. let's say from 1 / 100000 street crossings to 1 / 20000. You think "Hey, that's ok, the chances I'll get hit by a bus are still crazy low". Then your best friend gets hit by a bus and you say "Wow, Im never crossing the street again, it's too risky".
