ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) ? A driver says George Zimmerman threatened to kill him, asking 'Do you know who I am?' during a road confrontation in their vehicles, a police spokeswoman said Friday.

The driver, 35-year-old Matthew Apperson, told Lake Mary police officers that a passenger in a truck stopped at a light next to his car on a busy street in this Orlando suburb, rolled down his window and yelled, "Hey, what's your problem? Why you shaking your finger?"

Apperson said he was listening to music with his windows rolled up at the time, and that the passenger's yelling was unprovoked.

The truck's driver then asked Apperson, "Do you know who I am?" according to a police report. Apperson said he believed it was Zimmerman.

"George Zimmerman was the driver, and they were threatening to kick my ass and to shoot me," Apperson told a police dispatcher in a 911 call.

Apperson told the dispatcher that he pulled into a nearby gas station to use the phone since he didn't have his cellphone, and the truck followed him. Zimmerman drove the truck up to Apperson's car, blocking him in, Apperson said.

"He almost hit my car and he said he would shoot me then," said Apperson, who told the dispatcher that he never saw a gun in Zimmerman's truck. "Both of them were threatening to shoot me and kill me."

Apperson called police from the gas station, but the truck was gone by the time officers arrived. Apperson, who has a concealed-weapons license, was carrying a firearm at the time, according to the police report.

Have you not seen how many times he has been back in the news since his trial? He was arrested after the trial for assault of his wife, he was again all over the news after getting caught speeding in Texas, dunno why that was news worthy but after that he was once again in the news because he helped rescue some people in a over turned car. I'm saying that Zimmerman could have done what he told the police he was going to do which is get back in his truck and meet them. Instead he decided he was a badass and he pursued the supposed bad guy and ended up getting in a fight with him and killing him.

It was all 100% avoidable.

That is a big assumption. We have only heard Zimmerman's side of the story. If Martin were still alive I would imagine he would have a different take on it and it would be up to a jury to see who was telling the truth. Zimmerman could easily be the one that ended up in jail.

Zimmerman should have stayed in his car and went to meet the police. He didn't. The jury decided he wasn't guilty of murder, but if there is a civil suit it may have a very different outcome.

Did either of these people see the fight start? No. We can only accept Zimmerman's story.

Say it had ended with the police arriving while Martin is on top hitting Zimmerman. He then tells the police the running that woman heard was Zimmerman chasing him and grabbing him. Martin see's Zimmerman has a gun and is afraid for his life so he tried to get away. He then says Zimmerman hit him and the fight started.

As you yourself have said there were no witnesses to how this fight started so if it had ended with them both alive it would have been a case of two stories and who the jury believed.
