It's a fluff piece advertising a show. Its already well known that he was addicted to regular amphetamine so this is not much of a stretch.

Those anti-drug laws are very weird actually. For example, in my country you can't get even a potassium permanganate because it's considered a drug precursor. On the other hand, you can easily buy phenobarbital as Corvalol - a drug which is being sold w/o a recipe everywhere to everyone.

I remember watching a documentary that said D-Day was planned around Hitler's sleep patterns. Hitler took a downer to sleep and a doctor had to inject him to get him up.
Hitler was not to be disturbed before a certain hour. Also troops could not move without his approval.

Quite addictive, my step-father's brother, when we went to visit used one every few minutes, all the time he was awake.


Don't know if the guy who told me was telling the truth. Said after they outlawed it, you could still buy it as "chicken powder," as it boosted egg production in chickens.

I still am unsure why it's the govt.'s business if a guy wants to use that to stay awake...OR if he drinks a pot of coffee.

The only reason people are toothless these days is because the govt. made most of the ingredients illegal.
So therefore people aren't doing amphetamines like they used to. Instead they are getting the jacked up effect from making "Crank" and calling it "meth" using harsh household chemicals and poisons.

No...doing real speed like is being described and injecting it...wouldn't cause anybody to lose their teeth.
When I was just starting out playing in bands everybody was taking speed (1979) in pill form.
Yellow jackets, black beauties, etc.

And the effect was like drinking 5 cups a coffee real quick. You felt like a million bucks because your adrenalin was flowing.

Fast forward to the 1990's and the present day...I have never smoked crank because of the whole teeth rotted out scenario...but I tried snorting it like cocaine a few times.
It burned like a mother fucker. And yeah, you felt sped up...but it wasn't pleasant like the feeling you got taking real speed.
It felt kinda miserable and geeky.

So I filed that drug under: Doesn't work for me.

meth is a harsh version i took diet pills when i was doing 18 hour days in school very good shit! i pushed my longest 4 days no sleep my vision started to go so i had to sleep

I did the same thing. I had music theory class at 8:15 a.m. on the East Coast of Fla in college. Since I majored in music that class was the same time every semester and every year. I would get out of my last class at around 1:30 in the afternoon.

Then I had a house gig on Wed., Thursday, Friday, and Sat. in Tampa, Fla that we played from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. on those nights. So on Wed. I would get out of class at 1:30 and head over to my house. Get my shower, eat something, then start the 5 hour drive over to Tampa. I'd play the gig, and then leave as soon as we finished the last song to drive like a maniac to make it to class on Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m.
Same thing the next day.

I'd finally get some rest on Saturday and sleep all day.

But Wed. Thursday, and Friday I was popping yellow jacket pills to stay awake.
It was rough, but I figured if I couldn't do it when I was 19 years old...when would I be able to pull something like that off? lol
