The signs were definitely there. In week one the Ravens still showed a lot of strength in their loss, but the Steelers showed a bunch of weak areas on both sides of the ball in their week 1 win. I had to look back over the replays the next day to see it, and of course hindsight is 20/20.

Week two results tell a very interesting tale, marking a great start to the 2014 season thus far.
From the first matchup of the week where Baltimore hammered the Steelers soundly it set off a string of upsets and unexpected outcomes. The mighty Seahawks and 49ers both found ways to lose while Buffalo, Cleveland, and the Rams found themselves in the win column.
And in last night's Monday Nighter the EAGLES managed to net another win and a place among the seven teams having a 2-0 start. Indy on the other hand joins other surprise teams NO Saints and KC Chiefs among the seven who are 0-2.

What else is surprising is that a lot of you thought the Bears were going to beat the Niners, many even went heavy with their weights on this one, and for one in the pool it paid off particularly well...

Ah, I see the mistake I made. For some reason I thought Ramster picked the Jets.

It will be a 2-way tie, winner decided by the MNF score.

Actually they got you 30 points. Nice pick.

Scoring for correct picks = weight x 2pts for the win, in your case = 30 points.



And in case anyone was wondering, in the event of a complete tie (as in same score AND same MNF score prediction) it is then the person who entered their picks first who wins. (Poolhost lists that person first automatically) It's super rare, but it can happen.

Thus for that reason alone it is important to get your picks in as early as possible.

This week started with a monster blowout with Atlanta utterly destroying Tampa in the Thursday Nighter.
The rest of the week held more surprises -- Giants' fans will be happy that their team finally won one.
Philly with the huge comeback win over Washington was a fun game to watch, Eagles are 3-0 so far.
And in the Superbowl rematch it was AGAIN the Seahawks showing their dominance.
Bengals 3-0. Cards 3-0. Overall I'd say Cincy is looking the strongest so far this season.

A rare photo-finish was seen in the pool this week, and at the end it was the MNF total score that decided it. SO CLOSE!

Random NFL news...

Giants crush Washington: Larry Donnell caught three of Eli Manning's four touchdown passes, and the New York Giants moved to .500 with a 45-14 victory over the Washington Redskins. Washington falls to 1-3 under new coach Jay Gruden.

Both these teams are so hot and cold lately it's impossible to predict if they'll show up with their A game or their basement of the outhouse game.

Congrats to those who went with NY last night.

Ray Rice saga takes another turn: A law enforcement official says the video of Ray Rice punching his fiancée was sent to NFL headquarters to the attention of league security chief Jeffrey Miller. The NFL has repeatedly said no one with the league saw the violent images until TMZ Sports released the video earlier this month. Miller said through an NFL spokesman that he never received the video.

This is not going to end well for the league. Someone's going to get fired.

This week started with the Giants coming out of obscurity and utterly HAMMERING the
Redskins in the Thursday Nighter.
On Sunday there were more one-sided games (ie; slaughters), as Green Bay thumped
Chicago, Indy destroyed Tennessee, and Baltimore owned Carolina, as did Miami over
the Raiders.
Dallas humbled New Orleans, and the week came to a close with the Chiefs absolutely
shaming the Patriots in the Monday Nighter.

I don't think I've seen so many blowouts in the same week in fact.

In the pool however it was so not a blowout. We had yet another tie at the finish, and the next four players were only two points back in a four-way tie for third. It again came down to the MNF game score to decide the winner...
