They didn't dare to crush him, but in our countries, what happened in tianamen continues to be a symbol of oppression. Does it really matter if they crush him or not ?
There is anyway 1000 deaths, according to wikipedia.

Was it better if he died from an isrealian bomb, instead ?
This is non sense and if it is non sense, it's propaganda.
I don't understand even half of this and it isn't because of my English.

The tank driver and or commander didn't dare to crush that guy. There is no bigger meaning in that.

It suited for being symbol because the one guy managed to stop the tanks aka the first tank, that probably was that platoon's leader.

but the solution is easy: let's crush him, why didn't he do that ?
Weren't these tanks here to kill the civilians ?
There was more than 1000 deaths.

Apparently that particular tank crew felt otherwise. And I am pretty sure that they weren't there to kill civilians. Most probably their orders were to restore order, end the protests, etc, killing was just one way to achieve that.

My guess is that they were probably there for something else, probably to secure the area but against heavy weapons.

I was also wondering how they couldn't crush this "rebellion". Same with Iraq and Isis...it's like a few thousand guys versus an army. I guess there's a lot to be said for having a cause.

It's almost impossible to defeat guerrillas if they are supported by local civilians. The most powerful armies got cracked on that (Napoleon in Russia, Hitler in the USSR, the USA in Vietnam, the USSR in Afghanistan, the USA in Afghanistan etc)

Neither Napoleon or Hitler got cracked by querrillas. Although partisans were pain in the ass for Hitler. Even Vietnam was mixed fighting and armies, not just querrillas, although querrilla tactic was most successful in there.

Neither the separatists in Ukraine are querrillas, at least so far.

Mixed group, "militia" is probably the best term.

I see. That's a quite accurate definition.

Only those with a brain (chess players were always the most intelligent ones): http://www.ntv.ru/sport/1151956/ - as you can see, there are smart people even in the Western Ukraine (Lviv)

Ukraine has kicked the entire Communist Party out of its parliament. Ukraine's 2012 parliamentary election saw 30% vote for now-broken Party of Regions, 13% for Communists. Democracy
