Just saw Buyitnow.xxx is For Sale $5000 on Godaddy.com

Being sold as a premium domain. Does that seem like a good domain for selling sex toys? Any feedback?

Buyitnowxxx.com is only $1000 but I feel the buyitnow.xxx may be a better investment. Any suggestions? Both on godaddy, I could use the feedback before I take the plunge.

I wouldn't use a .xxx domain for an adult toy store, nor would I use a domain with xxx in it. First off if you use a .xxx domain you can forget about doing any mainstream advertising for it, and in my experience .xxx domains get blocked on social media sites almost instantly. So you aren't going to be able to make a Facebook fan page for an .xxx domain.

As far as having xxx in the domain you are going to run into the same hurdles as above, and you also don't want to put anyone off thinking that something with xxx in it is gonna show up on their credit card statement. You can put as many disclaimers as you want on the site that the credit card would show a charge under a generic business name, but when people see xxx or something like fucktoys.com in the domain name it makes them uneasy. Guys ordering pocket pussies are worried their wife is gonna see something with xxx in it on their credit card statements, and vice versa for women ordering silver bullets because their husband doesn't satisfy them.

Trust me, register a safe domain name with novelty or products in it, like the DallasNovelty.com folks. You'll open a lot more doors and save yourself a ton of headaches in the long run...

I see your point but I do like the idea of someone seeing your domain and knowing what they will see when they get there as well. Advertising is so costly that if someone saw Buyitnow.xxx or BuyItNowxxx.com they know what you are about. I still thank you for your input and will take it in consideration. SUSAN

I don't think anyone is gonna see buyitnow.xxx and naturally assume it's sex toys. They can just as quickly assume it's porn, and you don't want to turn off any female customers, who are going to be a huge percentage of your customer base. And as far as advertising being costly, that is why you want a domain that isn't going to get blocked right off the bat on social media sites. Try to find a single .xxx domain with a Facebook fan page, I bet you probably can't. Social media is free branding and traffic, and they don't want porn domains.

This is the world I previously came from, brick and mortar adult bookstores, and later online stores. Ask anyone, porn traffic doesn't work so well on adult stores. People that buy sex toys can just as easily go to Amazon and not have to deal with any of the hassle, so you don't want to make them uncomfortable in any way.

Are you just selling the usual, or do you have your own product?

I have a domain now that as you say is more mainstream but I like the idea of a domain that says what it is and does what it says..

I think using a generic name for credit card charges and saying like:

Your charge will appear as xyz services and will not reflect the name Buyitnow.xxx or the other but it seems cool to me, I will give it some more thought. Thank you Susan

I found another domain so buyitnow.xxx and Buyitnowxxx.com are both available boys. SUSAN

I still think I should gone with buyitnow.xxx but just can not afford it.
