?The Wrath of God Quiz"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. How many men did God kill because someone decided to peek into the ark of the Lord?

Correct Answer: 50,070 ?And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter? (1 Samuel 6:19).

2. How many men did Moses kill in one day because they failed to say they supported God?

Correct Answer: 3,000 ?Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men? (Exodus 32:26-28).

3. How many people did God kill in a plague before someone pleased God by ending a mixed marriage with the murder of the couple?

Correct Answer: 24,000 ?And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand? (Numbers 25:6-9).

4. How many animals did Solomon kill in a sacrifice to please the Lord?

Correct Answer: 120,000 sheep and 22,000 oxen ?And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offering, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord? (1 Kings 8:63).

5. How many Israelites did God deliver to the people of Judah to slaughter?

Correct Answer: Half a million ?Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand. And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers? (2 Chronicles 13:15-18).

6. Notwithstanding the above, how many people of Judah were once killed or enslaved because they didn?t give God his due?

Correct Answer: 120,000 valiant men were killed and 200,000 women and children were taken as slaves (not to mention the theft of property.) ?For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers. . . . And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them? (2 Chronicles 28:6-8).

7. How many Ethiopians did God kill for His chosen people?

Correct Answer: One million ?And Asa had an army of men . . . And there came out against them Zera the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand . . . Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power, help us, O Lord our God . . . So the Lord smote the Ethiopians? (2 Chronicles 14:8-12).

8. Speaking of God?s chosen people, how many kings were maimed in God?s name?

Correct Answer: 70 had their thumbs and big toes cut off. ?And they found Abonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and Perizzites. But Abonibezek fled; and they pursued after him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes. And Abonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me? (Judges 1:5-7).

9. How many soldiers did God burn to death with fire from Heaven because they confronted Elijah?

Correct Answer: 150 (three sets of 50) ?And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty. Again also he sent unto him another captain . . . And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty . . . And he sent again a captain of the third fifty . . . Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties? (2 Chronicles 1:10-14).

10. By the time God gets through with his killing spree, how many dead will there be?

Correct Answer: Enough to cover the entire surface of the Earth. ?And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried, they shall be dung upon the ground? (Jeremiah 25:33).

Another Bible Quiz....

"God's Favorite Ways to Kill" Quiz

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Which of the following are among God?s methods of punishing those who break His commandments?

Correct Answer: Depends on His mood. ?But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments?I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes?I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle? (Leviticus 26:14-22). ?If thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments? The Lord will smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish? The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed. The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart? (Deuteronomy 28:15-28).

2. How does God handle people who make Him jealous by having a religion different than ours?

Correct Answer: He has them burned with fire, shot with arrows, bitten by beasts, poisoned by serpents, stabbed with swords and dashed to pieces with rods of iron-man, woman and child including infants, the aged and virgins. ?They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up...And he said...They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger...For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs? (Deuteronomy 32:17-25). ?Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter?s vessel? (Psalms 2:8).

3. How does God kill whiners?

Correct Answer: Fire. ?And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp? (Numbers 11:1).

4. How does God prefer to torture those who somehow become enemies of His chosen people?

Correct Answer: Several Ways. ?God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations of his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows? (Numbers 24:8). ?Moreover the Lord thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible? (Deuteronomy 7:20-21). ?And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood? (Isaiah 49:26).

5. How does God kill those who vacation in Egypt?

Correct Answer: Several Ways. ?And now therefore hear the word of the Lord, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; If you wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there; Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die. So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them? (Jeremiah 42:15-17).

6. How did God express his hatred toward people living in metropolitan Babylon?

Correct Answer: By turning the men into drag queens. ?How is Babylon become a desolation among the nations. A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: and sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed? (Jeremiah 50:23, 37)

7. When a community?s sins really make God mad, how does God find comfort?

Correct Answer: Killing People. ?Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity. A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted? (Ezekiel 5:11-13).

8. Whom does God slaughter when He gets jealous because a community is worshiping someone else?

Correct Answer: Everyone. ?Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up? (Hosea 13:16).

9. How does God punish promiscuous folks, like men who have sex with both their wives and mothers-in-law and daughters of priests who sleep around?

Correct Answer: He has them burned with fire. ?And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you? (Leviticus 20:14). ?And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire? (Leviticus 21:9).

10. In Jesus? time, how did the Trinity deal with nonbelievers?

Correct Answer: Eaten by worms or struck blind. ?And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost? (Acts 12:23). ?But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand? (Acts 13:8-11).

please, not this fucking shit again

Donny 12-09-2002 11:29 PM

So... thinking individuals can't possibly believe God himself really wrote the Bible. Damn Christians can't see it. God supposedly never changes... yet he commands us "thou shalt not kill" in Exodus and the rest of the Bible is FULL of killing.

Things that make you go "hmmm".

Donny 12-09-2002 11:30 PM

Spunky... you must not get the point. If you ever want to have a chance to prove a religious person wrong you have to give them proof. They'll only believe the Bible itself. I can give you a ton of verses from the Bible that show how ridiculous the Bible is...

Prove it wrong by using it's own words.

And I'm an atheist. I love guns. I didnt vote for Bush, and I think if Clinton wants a blowjob, women should line up and give him one. Fuck the muslims, I'm antisocial, and if Pteam wants to drive a blue lamborghini, well more power to him.

Just because a guy walked around and called himself son of god foesnt mean its true, Theres hundreds of people now that walk around calling them selves god or son of god.

And how has it exactly been proven.. because of scriptures and books and pictures. Theres pictures and books on Santa Claus, does he really exist.

There is more evidence for the existence of Jesus than evidence for the existence of Julius Caesar. Baddog didn't make any statements about the claims made about Jesus, just his existence.

jigg 04-09-2012 02:30 AM

So is the statement that God is a vengeful bastard or that God of the Old Testament is a fiction?

Many would have an issue with YHWH's traits and character portrayed in the Old testament.

Roman Census for the time, completely non religious. Jesus did exist, and was crucified, everything about God / miricles / whatever not withstanding, he was real.

$5 submissions 04-09-2012 04:54 PM

Considering the fact that your father was a Pentecostal minister and you went through a healthy period of doubt, it makes perfect sense you would post this thread.

While it is easy to answer the questions raised by these instances in the Bible with the assertion that G-d is an arbitrary, angry, vengeful bully. Another approach would be to ask if God can murder people. He can't. If you believe he IS the Creator, then he can't murder. He is just taking back his creations/his property due to the choices they, out of free will, made.

If I create something and let you borrow it, if I retake it, I still own it and can do whatever with it. I can't be accused of stealing my own property.

The Earth is not perfect. Adam's fall made sure of that. However, the good news is that people always have a choice if they would accept Grace into their lives and become new creatures and free from the penalty of Sin. The same acceptance also gives them the power, through again Grace, to be free from the POWER of Sin.

Just my beliefs, bros. Not forcing it on anyone :)

I'm not even referring to that. I am talking about simple accuracy. Even the Wikipedia article about the film talks about the outright inaccuracies. They totally get ancient myths wrong, etc.

XSAXS 04-09-2012 06:12 PM

The #1 reason I believe that Jesus is who He said He is:

In the Gospel of John we read that the apostle Thomas would not believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead. He said that he would not believe unless he could see the wounds in Jesus hands and put his fingers into the wound in His side. According to John, one week later it happened. The resurrected Jesus appeared to all the disciples, and Thomas was able to touch the healed wounds for himself, and he exclaimed "My Lord and my God!" (Jn. 20:24)

Ok... just another wild Bible story, right?

Yes, BUTTTT.......

According to verifiable sources OUTSIDE the Bible -- Over the next 30-50 years, Thomas traveled longer and further than any other disciple spreading the message of a Risen Savior. And he was eventually martyred in India (speared several times and thrown alive into an oven).

These accomplishments are well documented outside the Bible by Christian and non-Christian sources.

So why would a man who (at first) did NOT believe in a Risen Christ throw away his normal, comfortable life and willingly submit himself to persecution, punishment, torture, and death if he knew that Jesus was a fake or that His claims were fraudulent?

As $5 Submissions said... this is just my own view. Not suggesting anyone else has to agree with it. I've tried to disprove the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus many times, but there are way too many extra-Biblical sources that endorse its veracity.

Once a person with a basic Christian understanding is pointed in the right direction i.e. Jesus is the Sun, there's enough information available for them to see what's been done.

I went to Catholic school, I spent a lot of time studying the bible, so all I needed was to be told that Jesus is the Sun, then I could easily apply the test with my biblical knowledge.

Jesus (the Sun) turns water into wine, that's the rain that falls on grapes to make them grow. Jesus/Sun feeds the 5000, by making food grow. Easter is when light has defeated dark (more light than dark) the Sun/Jesus has been resurrected. Jesus/The Sun walking on water, that's the Sun setting over the sea or a lake. "I am the light of the world that every eye will see." The sun wears a corona, "crown of thorns" or halo, just as Jesus. etc etc etc I could go on all day with examples.

Jesus is a Sun God, unless this is all a coincidence of lottery winning probability

Or, parables that people are easily able to understand are used. Just about every lesson Jesus taught came in the form of parables. The prodigal son, good seed vs bad seed, etc etc. Also, when Paul came along to convert "Gentiles" he didn't even attempt to make them stop following their traditions... he simple told them he had new reasons for them to celebrate. Easter is a perfect example. It was pagan, Paul didn't want to take it away, so he told them the meaning should change. I have no problem with that.

If they drew up a Christian spin on pagan Easter, to say that Jesus was resurrected instead of the Sun resurrected, and we accept that. It becomes difficult to believe much more, because it all always ties in so nicely with Jesus being the Sun.

Actually as Christians you should follow the teachings of Christ not the old testament. The new testament is the actual word of god and the old testament are fairy tales[ I was taught that by a priest) But its hard to judge others when your only commandment is love one another as I loved you. The Christians would have waaay too much free time if they only did that. lol
