Gas prices aren't shit. People need to quit bitching.

I pay maybe an extra $100 a month now versus a year ago. Not a big deal.

If you can't find a way to make an extra $100 a month, you got bigger problems.

:2 cents:

pr0 06-03-2008 01:30 PM

Really? I spend an extra $200 a week....going between here & my friends out of state etc. on weekends.

Which is about an extra thousand dollars a month. But yea for people who drive 40 miles a day....I don't understand the bitching too much.

Only an extra $100 to drive the ferrari to & from work eh allan?

GrouchyAdmin 06-03-2008 01:31 PM

So this means that you're going to start offering $4.25 per email? http://www.gfy.com/images/icons/1bluewinky.gif

IllTestYourGirls 06-03-2008 01:33 PM

Want to up me account to $100 per sign up? :pimp

tranza 06-03-2008 01:34 PM

People love to bitch.

WiredGuy 06-03-2008 01:35 PM

$100 a month to the general public is a big deal, you gotta figure most people do live paycheck to paycheck with minimal savings that a hike like that could cripple them over time.

I know a lot of people in this position. If you work for a set company for a set salary and you live for the next paycheck, if your bread, milk and gas costs go up 50%.... where does the new money come from?

People like us can't comprehend that of course, but the 90% of people out there struggle.

It's funny and true. People will pay $XX a meal several nights a week and spend $4 on a cup of coffee... but heaven forbid... that extra $20 a week is ruining life as we know it.

AK 06-03-2008 01:37 PM

if anyone is looking for an extra job to make that extra $100, hit me up. LOL

jalami 06-03-2008 01:42 PM

Very true... all in all it takes 23 cents in gas to get to the office instead of 16 cents. If I can't afford an extra $3 a month I have some serious problems.

Point is people blow money elsewhere but complain about a little extra gas cost. I'd rather then an extra $5 than walk 50 miles. And maybe have one less frappuchino that week.

You are so right,I was having this conversation with my brother. He makes big bucks and he looked at me like people really have that problem?
I go to a local diner, was talking to the waitress. She is in her early 50's and she has to work 6 shifts from 6am to 6pm to put food on the table. Gas hikes hurt her big time.

pr0 06-03-2008 03:12 PM

avoiding the ferrari question ; ) ??

tiger 06-03-2008 03:44 PM

There are a lot of people that an extra 100-200 a month might be 10% of what they earn.

KMR Stitch 06-03-2008 03:50 PM

must suck to be so cool and play rich.

Elli 06-03-2008 03:54 PM

My friend's car costs $.10 a km in gas, and she drives 40k each way to work. She's young, so she gets paid $10 an hour right now. Almost a whole hour of every day is spent just paying for her travel to get to work. That's just not cool. I would call that a very frustrating situation.

After Shock Media 06-03-2008 03:57 PM

It would be that easy if all my customers were people like you however they are everday Americans for the most part. The gas prices alone are a smaller hit that takes away some of the extra cash they may have beyond their paychecks. However it does not stop at gas either. Food prices are going up by the mid to high double digit percentages which is a huge chunk of families budgets. Most peoples electricity bills have gone up, same with natural gas, cable, water, and nearly everything else besides their paycheck. Even if they got a 30% raise today they still would have less spending power than they did before due to how much everything else has gone up.

Yes, that's life. The majority of people can not make an extra $100 a month, and do "got bigger problems."

Mr Pheer 06-03-2008 04:12 PM

People used to post about thier new car, new house, new computer, thier watch, or a lavish vacation they took.

Now they just post that they can afford gas.

dav3 06-03-2008 04:12 PM

Gas prices are crushing businesses like shrimping boats and diesel shops.

How are whales gonna keep pumping credits into a cam site, when their own businesses are on the verge of collapse?

But hey, not a big deal.

Kudles 06-03-2008 04:21 PM

Well I own a avalanche and it costs at least 350 a month to keep it running so I think I will continue complaining.

Agreed...one of the bait shops i goto for fishing supplies...worms are up $2...shrimp are up $0.50 all due to delivery costs.

Bitch about the fact it was being kept low for so long and now it can't happen anymore...

Um you do realize how many people, webmasters included make less than 48k a year right?
Hell there are many families out there that with dual incomes that do not make that.

I thought $0.10 per kilometre sounded "expensive" until I worked it out for my car...

14L / 100km average consumption (6 cylinder 4.0 litre w/ full time climate control)

x $AUD1.60 per litre cost

= $AUD22.40 per 100km

or $AUD0.224 per km (about $USD0.22/km or $0.35 per mile)

I know some people who travel every day to a job 100km away. Obviously the fuel consumption is better at highway speeds but it's still a fair amount of petrol (around $USD30 per day), and more importantly, wear and tear on the mechanicals. To stick to defined service intervals they'd need to have their car done every 45-60 days.

Poindexterity 06-03-2008 05:26 PM

what about those who drive for a living?

try pullin 150+ miles a day...

Hmm.. I get 13L/100km and I have a 4 cylinder with no climate control... sounds like you've got the better deal :)

The logical question would be why does she work 40km away from where she lives... I understand everyone has their own situation and stuff like that but if I was living on $10/hour I'd be trying to save money where I could.

I'm paying like $5.49 for premium... People think gas is bad here they should live in the UK. They've had small cars forever. It's not a gas problem it's being an "american" problem.

True, but everyone has their reasons. Transit would be the same price but would add an hour to her travel time. It's a bit of a catch-22 in her case. I'm sure she's not alone.

coffee prices and gas prices //

GrouchyAdmin 06-03-2008 06:46 PM

I haven't filled up my car since gas was in the $2. range.

I don't get to drive much. My employers keep me tied to my desk and I have to pee in a bucket. :(

I agree!

They should quadruple the price again just to really fuck with you. AND if you complain, you got bigger problems.

Just remember, white-out is more expensive per gallon. That justifies it all, I saw it in an email!!!!

DO NOT go back and look at gas prices before George W. Oil took over. It will only make you shit yourself and wonder how the fuck this crook is getting away with this.
