My twitter has gone dark
 

My twitter account goes dark and I'm not sure what's going on. My largest account has 454K followers - I tweet 99.99999% porn in some fashion or another. I gain on average about 1000 followers per day on the days I DON'T tweet. If I post just one tweet, my follows stop and drop to zero and I actually start losing followers at a rate of 100 or so per day. The new follows will stay at zero for about 5-6 days, at which point it will start gaining followers again. (it doesn't always reset at 5 days, sometimes it's 6... the longest has been 9 days)

I've tweeted on the days that my account is 'dark' and doesn't gain followers. I still get a shit ton of reach just no followers. People still see, favorite and retweet my tweets, I just don't get followers. If I don't tweet for 5-6 days, the followers start rolling in again, but the second I tweet, my follows stop. WTF is going on? Has anybody heard of this?

I have 3 other large accounts and so far none of those are affected. Thinking about starting to incubate another account because of this.

you might have got awarded twitter "shadow mode"... a friend of mine was so angry (120k+ followers @Bensonix)..

I don't think you will be able to do anything if this is the case (very rare though)..

I think you might be right. I haven't tweeted in days and days and went from 434K to now around 441K. It started last year somewhere around the time Twitter first started talking about cleaning up their image for the new board of directors... I've been in twitter jail once with this account and that was when I first started... 2013/14 or so. I'm very careful to keep my tweets under the allowed limits and don't do massive follow/unfollow.

That is really frustrating! Does it happen when you retweet as opposed to posting an original tweet?
If it does not my suggestion would be to use this twitter account for retweeting posts from your other twitter accounts to keep traffic flowing wherever you are sending it.

So does that mean you are banned from tweeting?
