the rentboy case and a danger for adult web hosting in US?
As you perhaps know people who ran the US hosted website rentboy.com (a classifieds website for male escorts) have been arrested and their web server has been seized by the US homeland security.
the story: Feds Arrest 7 Employees at Rentboy.com for Money Laundering and Prostitution | Passport Magazine News What is important here to me, is that they seized the server meaning their disconnected it and used it as an evidence. If this web server would have been a server with multiple websites on it, if the same thing would have happened, all the sites would have been taken down. Do you think this scenario can happen again? For instance, hostgator allows adult websites on its shared web hosting plan. Would one of the hostgator server be taken down if one website was a big escort website as for rentboy.com? On the other hand, when the FBI has a problem with a website, they just block that particular website. This is what happened until now. what do you think?
