questions starting new website

Hello,

I'm new here. I have a question:

I try (for fun, but also to maybe make some extra money doing it) to start a porn website:

I've registered an .eu website: sexvids.

I've some questions:

1) Due to the .eu extension, is it a good name do you think? Or will people have a hard time finding it?
2) How long can it take to make money from advertisement...like how long do you have to wait for google to pick you up well in their search engine, is link building still important, etc...?
3) I notice that blog-style sites like: efukt, wtfpeople, humoron have way more visitors than the average-lots of crap/advertisement-sexwebsites... do you agree that making a simple blogstyle form will get you the most visitors? (I also notice that they fill niches, but still was wondering about the simple blogstyle being so attractive).
4) Any other tips?

Thanks

Brian

It's all imho!

1. COM/NET/XXX are the best.
2. It depends on many factors. If you are not going to pay for promotion, I think at least minimum 3 months
3. Video tube style is more attractive
4. At first, use social media for promotion and buy traffic from ad networks. This is needed for stating ..

1. Most people are familiar wit the .com extension. Next is .org and .net. I would try to get a domain with one of those extensions.

2. If you are just starting out with a new site it will take about 3-6 months for google to notice assuming you provide your site with good unique content

Is link building still important? I would say no it doesn't carry that much weight anymore. Here is a link that I found that you might be interested in. It talks about backlinks, what google is looking for and how to get ranked in the search engines. Here is the link:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/cars...a_aid/6d1215da

3. You can still build out a full website with a blog attached to it. The reason why I would keep a blog on your site is because you will always be creating fresh up to date content and this is what google wants. If your content is engaging then your posts/pages on your site will get shred, liked and tweeted thus giving you traffic to your site and ranking you in the search engines.

Hope this helps....

I started a soft porn/sexual fantasy type site about a year and half ago. It is a blog style like you mentioned with 20 or so well written articles and lots of sexy pics.

I did some thorough keyword research with no backlink building at all and I'm up to 600 uv right now. The site has about 20 keywords in the top 5 of Google and some more on the first page. It took a while to get some traction but the high search volume/low competition keywords eventually paid off. It's actually starting to make a little money.

Hope that helps you out some. Good luck with your site!

Thanks guys for the help. Why do you think blogsites like efukt, etc have the amount of visitors they have right now?

xxx can't compete with com and net, maybe in 5-10 years but right now you won't find any xxx for top ranking

I took your advise and registered 2 .com domain names: swatporn and swatsex.. Thanks for the help. Will make it a blog-style free of spam adult content website...I always missed something like this myself.. just a clean site without a lot of crap and with a lot of different categories that actually show what it says it will show.

The name is based on sluts.whores.amateurs.teens. I think it is catchy and not to long of a domain name..i registered both to avoid competition in case it might becomes something bigger. I hope it will work out fine. I dont know if swat means something strange, but i like it anyways ;)

I think it mostly depends on resource, but not from web zone. Or you're trying to say that it's more difficult to promote website in .xxx zone?

With domain names containing " sluts, whores, cunts" and the like you will alienate female customers, in my case about 40% of customers and also, those who have a bit of class ( and money). All you will attract are the "low brow" types who cannot afford a coffee at Starbucks, let alone your membership. It beats me why all the porn guys always cater to the "lowest common denominator", in other words the idiots who get off on " Duck Dynasty" and do not even watch it on History channel where you have to pay for it, but on some fucking free share site.

I think most of the sites are trying to appeal to the masses hoping to get ad revenue. Few if any are probably attempting to sell any type of membership with those dirty back alley websites.

All these asseholes do not know that tricks only work for so long, then the truth of these "phonies" will bite them in the ass.

Try to engage surfers to participate on your site if you can. Post ratings, polls, comments, share links, etc. Not just a 'read only' blog.
