Just to let every know if you have a private domain with GoDaddy, and a user sends any kind of legal forum including DMCA take down requests to the private domain email, they auto charge ur credit card 50.00 to forward you the email and it is non refundable.

Also, Godaddy is now charging an outrageous $14.99 to renew a dotcom plus $9.99 for privacy. What they charge for privacy is outrageous given that other registrars either charge nothing for privacy or charge only a nominal amount. I'm slowly transferring domains out to Namebright.com.

You know, it's funny how many people still think that they are making some sort of economy by using them and after the first year they notice the big mistake when the renewal knocks on the door, they starting to search desperately after coupons, only to realize that still, after using those, they hardly obtain a more down to earth price.

I've had domains there since 1998. They were not the only game in town back in the late 90's, early new millennium, but they had the best UI (other than the shitty upsell attempts) and "deals". In the past few years, as long I found coupon codes to bring the price down within range to other registrars, I didn't feel compelled to transfer domains outta there. But GD has eliminated almost all discount codes related to renewals. In the past few months, the cheapest I had found was $5 off the $14.99 renewal ($9.99 renewal) and GD is still charging the whopping $9.99 amount for privacy. GD is also trying to sell their discount domain club which is supposed to give members renewal discounts, but the fee to "join" is a joke (meaning outrageous) factored against the discount.

namecheap is ok or the cheapest one - namesilo, anyway better that not everybody will start to register with them, once they gain some sort of monopoly like gd, everybody starts to get greedy, all registrars should have a low-medium nr of clients because once they get a big chunk from the market, bad things will start to happen.

right now the only thing that i'm using from their services is their aftermarket, buy a domain and then i'm running away with it asap, of course after getting the desired domain(changing the ownership details), they trigger that shitty 60 days lock and if you are asking them to remove it, they require all kinds of legal documents so that you will not get away so fast, because of this issue, many times i still had to pay that fucking renewal fee when i've got a domain that was just about 1 month to expire

besides those, their email support is absolutely shit, staying at least 24 hours for a fucking and useless reply where they copy paste the same shit that i just told them that i read about it.

and then they want me to call them for a so called "fast suport", fuck off, who the fuck will pay the bill for calling from europe to states.

Agreed coupon codes have been reduced or they expire quicker to get ya to join their Discount Club. I did join their Discount Club as with 500+ .coms there the $58 I paid to join the club was worth it to get $8.47 purchases/renewals as I was paying $8.67 with coupon codes before, if ya have enough domains to make it worthwhile.

I sell a lot of domains as well so another reason I stick with them as more common for end users to have heard of them due to TV commercials and trust issue is a factor when selling, also makes pushes easier as most people have GoDaddy accounts already. I don't use their privacy service except on 2 domains though so privacy fee not a factor in my personal decision.

I have found this as well. While I prefer NameSilo for my primary domains, the majority of buyers I have dealt with just seem to usually prefer GoDaddy. For this reason, I keep the domains we would considering parting with over at GoDaddy, but the ones we will not part with at our preferred registrar, NameSilo. I've completely given up on Moniker and NameCheap, and the others, but keep accounts there just in the event a domain we buy is reg'd there.

Having said that... I will say this much about GoDaddy. They make transferring a domain out from them to another registrar pretty damn straightforward (email yourself the Auth codes, etc) and then the quick accept process. You can generally transfer a domain out, and confirm it, in 10 or 15 minutes so long as the receiving registrar is prompt.

If you have good mainstream domains, sedo would be great, otherwise you will not get to much attention there because the competition is fierce but, anyway, list them also on sedo.

Try sedo, bodis, godaddy aftermaket and also forums like namepros or dnforum.

I have told more sources just in case that your domains are not top notch so you need to make a small effort to market them, in case they are, i think sedo will be enough :
