how to turn/convert adult traffic into mainstream traffic?
I have a site that gets around 7-10k visitors per day. The site is adult (videos but not hardcore) but the people who visit it arent necessarily looking for porn ,they are more general folk. The ads really arent making that much, i think with google adsense etc I could make much more.
I'm thinking of using the traffic and sending it to some other mainstream site that I could then monetize better. I'm not talking about forced redirect but putting up some links and banners to slowly redirect certain percentage to new site. That mainstream site should be useful so they would return. Has anyone done such thing? We all know that mainstream traffic ,clicks etc pays more than adult. Should I build a facebook fan page of sort? What kind of mainstream site could convert the best from slightly adult traffic? The esiest would probably be some site with adsesne code in it but I am not sure - should be something interesting for people to return. So, how to best "convert" some of non hardcore adult traffic to mainstream and earn money from there... |

As far as I know you can't put adsense code on an adult related site yourself. The only way you can get that is to park your domains at one of the parking companies.
Yeah, this is definitely a contradiction in google policy, they don't allow adsense on adult related sites, but adsense is everywhere on adult domains that are parked. Guess since the parking companies have such big deals for all types of domains, it's part of their deal. But 7 -10 K visitors a day is a whole lot, from my view of things. I know others get much more, but you should be making someting decent out of that I would think. |

Have you tried Black Label Ads ? Not sure, much ads for general category are available, but it allows advertiser to provide custom advertisements.
If you have such an affiliate, its a nice option. With more than 7k visits, it is better to convert them for your good only.

similar to what others have said on this, I'd recommend sending the traffic to a site with products / offers that can be loosely associated with your adult content. so maybe sex toys, male/female sexual enhancement products.
in my opinion adsense is a waste of time as it doesnt really add value to sites, leaks traffic and generally takes up valuable site space. not really worth the pennies you make from it...
