Top WordPress themes for adult blogs

Top WordPress themes for adult blogs

If you are just beginning in this industry, you?re probably wondering how to generate traffic and monetize it. Today, there are tons of new and different ways for an affiliate marketer to make money in adult; think media buying, facebook traffic, tumblr blogs, and so on.

But over and all, the real cornerstone of a successful enterprise in the adult web marketing game is - and has always been - building and operating your own website.

Long gone are the days when you needed an army of code monkeys to achieve this feat. Today, thanks to what are now called Content Management Systems (CMS), even your grandmother can succeed and thrive as a web marketer, even if she hasn?t the slightest f****** clue on how to build a website.

And that?s exactly how WordPress came to be so powerful.

That being said, once you?ve downloaded and installed WordPress, you?ll still have to do a few more things before drowning in dollar bills. That includes comparing and choosing between hundreds of thousands of themes? and this can be somewhat time consuming.

"Rome wasn't built in a day,? remember?

Screw the Romans! You don't have to waste your precious time anymore.

We?ve already picked the best available XXX themes and listed them here just for you!

Hey, you'll thank us later.

1 - Video Hub / VideoStar - RichWP.com

Video Hub and VideoStar themes are perfect for the adult business because the spotlight put on your video content. The interface is very clean and easy to browse and gives the visitor a direct access to videos from the series of thumbnails displayed on the homepage. These themes also include two banners areas above the fold and optional widget space.

2 - Magazine / Pinboard - Themify.me builder

If you want to monetize your traffic, you have to focus on your banner placement. Among the most profitable spots, there?s the footer, the header, and the sides of each respective page. Additionally, if your users read right to left (like in Arabic or Japanese) it?s better to put ads in the left column of your site. Otherwise, the ads should stay on the right.

That?s where the Themify builder comes in handy.

With Themify, you gain access to various themes that can be fully customized by dragging and dropping the items onto your page? just like your banners! More than 40 themes are available. However, we recommend the Magazine or the Pinboard themes, since they are such a great fit for the adult industry.

3 - Adult Video and Photo Gallery Themes - Adultsiteskins.com

These themes were designed specifically for the adult industry? and it shows! The pages are not too long, which thankfully avoids endless scrolling. Themes are so specialized here that you can even choose between the usual niche colors: Bright red, black for hardcore, light blue, or even hot pink for teen, and so forth-- and you know what? The themes are 100% free.

4 - Videogrid - Themefuse

This theme perfectly illustrates the trend in which one creates an irregularity in content, so that the user?s attention is drawn more to the page. In this case, it?s the size of the video thumbnails that are different from one another. And, since this theme is well-thought-out, the thumbnails resize automatically depending on the user?s browser and screen resolution.

5 - Gonzo - Themeforest

Overuse of ad space can drive away your visitors. Sometimes, less is better, so? keep it simple! The Gonzo theme is well-spaced and leaves perfect room for the essential navigation tools: A visible menu, a unique search field, a sub-menu for categories, and of course, obvious buttons that link to social media. The ads in the header and at the bottom right are so well integrated, they don?t distract from the content AT ALL!

Obviously all these themes are responsive except for the adult themes from adultsiteskins.com. Many of them may not be free but their cost - between 45$ and 70$ - includes full support and regular updates.

Now that you've got your theme set, there's still a lot of work to be done before you can earn a living out of it but hey, that's another story!

Are better looking themes what's important?

My takeaway from the examples is that they have various marketing strengths derived from the layout, color choices, etc.

Be great to know if Crak - or anyone else here - has utilized any of these themes and can report on their success.

In the after-Panda world? YES, they are extremely important. You must know the main Google slogan. It says: make sites for the real people.

So now Google is ranking your site depending on the user activity. It watches for the surfers via its spying tools (Chrome, Google Toolbar, Google Analytics etc) and estimates their experience (bounce rate, average time on site, % of bookmarkers and many other parameters).

Thus if you site looks cheap and contains only boring articles which was written by "SEO gurus", any real visitor will close it even before it will be fully loaded into the browser. You can buy 1000's links, but such site will never be rated well by Google.

On the other hand, if your site has a breathtaking design and is filled with tons of eye-catching content such as videos and images, you visitors will browse it, add to their bookmarks, give it likes in various social networks etc. And it doesn't matter if your content is really unique or not (even Google by itself has 0% of unique content), it will attract the real surfers and be sure that Google will be notified about that.

Your response has nothing to do with my post. For example, I didn't say to try to sell MILF content using a teen theme. Please read slower and try to keep on topic when you reply.

Glad my answer stirred up some response.

What's "better" looking may not be the best choice?don't confuse aesthetics with functionality (though it's ideal that the two go hand-in-hand).

In our last Educational Series article, Spike mentioned that members retain longer in Homegrown because there is a 'labyrinth' style members area. I'm not trying to compare apples to oranges - IF user behavior can be applied across the board then if Google is rating based on user activity, perhaps a pretty site isn't as important as utilizing a lay out that keeps your surfers clicking.

Furthermore, there is some room to argue that what I may find pleasing to the eye is not the same for everyone else.

Ultimately it's about testing to see which theme yields the best results for your traffic.

I didn't say that theme must look like a circus. You know, a cool theme can be rather ascetic. It must present your content in the most attractive way. The whole site must not look boring like "hey I saw this shit on 100 other sites today". The navigation must be intuitive and it must invite a surfer to browse through the site. It must look well on various devices with various resolution and screen orientation.

So once again: a properly selected theme is extremely important nowadays.

No, what's important is that everyone sucks up to Crak despite them supporting piracy by advertising on The Pirate Bay.

I had a theme called Black Label by Nico Andrade, bought off themeforest, along with Easy Digital Downloads, it went great and started to generate memberships and downloads through chat traffic...this was a while back though and could not hook EED to payoneer or CCBill.

Now I see there are pluggins and add ons that make it a lot easier.....must try it again...Nice post!

Good thread. I am also big fan of Wordpress. In past 1 year all new personal and client wp projects was built with bootstrap wordpress themes.

Some benefits of boostrap:

1. Great for Design;
2. Responsive;
3. Easy for Customization;
4. HTML 5 and CSS 3 ready - the future of web.

And here a good article with free example of bootstrap wordpress themes.

WP is the route we chose. We used Gonzo for 3 of our sites including our main paysite and VOD portal and have been very happy with it. Have a look to see what we did:

www.canadianpartygirls.com - this is our flagship paysite and there are many custom changes to the theme.

www.thehottestgirlincanada.com - this is an unmodified version set up as they intend the theme to be.

www.americanpartygirls.com - this just shows how simple it can be made, in our case for a coming soon site.

Gonzo was a great choice - nice one! Your sites look fantastic, CPG. Totally pro.

Thanks for sharing these relevant examples. It's always helpful to see these adult themes in use by other webmasters. Keep up the terrific work!

Yes I would be interested, I guess you will be posting how to use the rssfeed (by your signature and your product, that by the way is great), can you post it please? I have several questions and experience using Rssfeed so I think it could help many members.

Nowadays, it has to be responsive. It is pretty useless if the theme does not has this feature and it will not help the ranking either.
