Fellow GFY geeks - Favourite Sci Fi tv shows?
I have been thinking about this because my husband has finally forced me to sit down and watch Babylon 5. I like sci fi but for some reason have avoided that one since it came out despite the pressure from geeky friends. We aren't far enough in for me to give my vote yet.
He wanted me to watch it because he ranks it as one of his favourite sci fi shows of all time. I have been thinking about what mine would be. New generation Dr. Who? Lost? Battle Star? Firefly? Not sure. So, fellow GFY geeks, what are your favourite sci fi shows? |

Of those mentioned, firefly I guess.
A lot of anime scifi is pretty good too. Ghost in the Shell. The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. |

I have never see Farscape but have some friends that were serisouly into it.
I also never really watched Sliders. My mom (big scifi nut) was really into it but I had a hard time getting past the kid from Stand By Me being in it. |

Star Trek TNG was probably my favorite of all time. The writing was actually very good beyond just the stories. There was a lot of subtlety and social commentary in almost every episode.

I totally agree. I loved DS9 for the same kind of reasons, ongoing subplots; although a little more dark with a lot of the social commentary pertaining to war and faith.

My hubby is big into Stargate but I have never been able to get into it. The times that I have watched it was a bit too 'alien of the week' for me.
