Ras-Putin wasnt first who proposed it. Actually that discussion was going on (sometimes) in 90s. it was proposed by some people and voices on both sides after communism ended...It was rejected by hard heads on both sides I think. I don't think that the US missiles in Poland can intercept Russian ICBMs (that's just impossible like hit a bullet with another one), but if we just imagine that it's theoretically possible... Let's use the simple logic: which country will be wiped out first in case of any serious war conflict between Russia and NATO? Poland is a cannon fodder for the USA and that's a fact.

The "funny" thing is that in the last minute the USA and Russia will make some agreement to not destroy themselves, but your country will already not exist. And that's also a fact.

Please read more carefully what you quoted. I posted about RUSSIA joining NATO, not eastern european countries. proposition to RUSSIA join nato was done several times in 90s. putin wasnt the first at all who proposed it.
