STAR TREK UNAIRED VERSION 2ND PILOT INTRO from 16mm film

The original print from Star Trek's 2nd pilot was never aired in this format. Had different opening narration, credits, had acts 1 thru 4 like an old quinn martin show and had scenes cut from aired version and different end credits and music. The original 16mm print is now stored in the Smithsonian oddly enough the soundtrack for this version was released with the cage. CBS owns all rights to Star Trek and no rights are implied. Just a part of trek history to share.

Wow, that's so cool, I never knew about the existence of this. Thank you for sharing it here. It's so interesting, and strange, to see the differences.

Its interesting when they change it. The first episode of game of thrones was so sad they redid it. John Snow says the runner threatens(teasing) to release if he causes trouble its so bad. Lol

Love it. The "feel" of this is more science-fiction, and less adventure. It's too bad that Star Trek: Discovery isn't more like this.

I bet you they have hundreds of hours of never seen before footage, behind the scenes, etc.

If you read books by Shatner and the rest, it was a very interesting time for all of them while filming.

I didn't bother too much with Discovery. I watched the first episode, but not any others. It was good, but I'm night signing up for their service, getting hooked on it, only to be forced to pay for it at a later date.

Star Trek Discovery is free here in Canada (we rock so much!) so I've seen all the episodes. I don't know what it is but its just not grabbing me. The main character is kind of a bitch, the story is all about the Klingons (and kind of boring). The technology makes no sense and is kind of dumb, etc. One of their recent episodes, a time travel one which I should have loved, sucked.

If you want to subscribe to CBS just for Trek, then, maybe.. don't?

I hate to say it, but The Orville is much better. I thought the first episode was weak but I enjoy it much more than Trek and find myself looking forward to each episode. The season finale was freaking excellent.

I believe it's free for us too using the CBS website but... I see where this is going and I don't like it.

I pay for cable tv, Netflix, and Hulu. I also have Amazon Prime. Now CBS wants me to pay $10 a month for.... a tv show? Oh hell no. I'm not paying $120 a year just so I can watch Star Trek. Then ABC will do it, NBC, etc, and suddenly we'll be paying for cable TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and then other channels... Plus music. This business model will not work. People will not be paying $10 a month to watch one channel. I understand CBS wants people to pay them directly, but it's just not going to work. CBS doesn't have enough content I want to see to motivate me to pay $10 a month for it.

I'll just wait until the entire series has run it's course, buy it on DVD used on Ebay or Amazon, and then binge watch it all at once.

for me StarTrek has this issue: it's 2017 no more Halloween mask aliens okay?

the best thing I've found is 'channels' on amazon prime... I have a few channels for between $4-$8 a month
