I watched him growing up. He was the mechanic on the Andy Griffin show and the goofball marine and Gomer Pyle USMC. His name was Jim Nabors and he had a surprisingly nice voice and recorded several songs.

He was a real crooner! I used to watch his reruns every summer, only thing that was on, Andy Griffith was good stuff.

I honestly forgot all about this. When I heard he died I went to IMDb - Movies, TV and Celebrities - IMDb to look up what other work he had done, and came across this show. I remember the intro, but don't remember the show. It sure looks awful, but for kids it looks like fun.
