That is just bad ass. If you've even been on an air craft carrier before you know how freaking huge it is....

I took the tour of one in San Diego and they are deceptively huge, like a compact high rise with all the trimmings

That is of course one reason for the drill, among multiple reasons.

You are correct, America is not in any danger, and one of the reasons is, is because we are the biggest and baddest dog on the block. Nineteen or twenty of the reasons we are the biggest and baddest dog is because we waste money on Aircraft Carrier Battle Groups.

These battle groups are still useful against countries like North Korea, Somali. Iraq or Syria. And course they are useless against China or Russia, because a whole group can be destroyed by a single cruise missile with a tactical nuclear warhead. This is a cheap and very easy way to do with these dinosaurs from 20th century.

No it's not.

Its basically a floating airport that can move.

Lets say a plane can only fly 2,000 miles. Now the US can do bombing mission anywhere within 2,000 miles of any ocean since the airport can move.

Before that, bombing missions were limited to 2,000 miles from the nearest US airport.

Land-lock country X has been doing/saying shit? Doesn't matter. In 2 weeks, a carrier can be in the area and bomb them. That gives the US great negotiation power.

It also allows for pretty cool things like dropping SEAL teams into remote areas from a floating US base (the carrier).

The rest of the world combined don't have the same amount of carriers as the US

I'd say its a great resource for Americans. The rest of the world should avoid them -- it's not worth it for them

Impressive turn radius!
A giant and extremely heavy ship like that, steaming forward at 65-75% of max speed and then suddenly try to shift course, wow. Takes so much power and it?s huge physical forces in the works.

You failed to explain how this makes life better for Americans...I understand that it is used to bully the weak that are not nuclear yet, but how does it make life better for people not involved in the """""""""""defense""""""""""" racket?

Each taxpayer in the USA is forced to pay 5000$/year for """""""""""""""defense"""""""""""""'"...how does attacking the 3rd world make life better for you?

Note that I am not asking how it makes life better for the military industrial complex and USIS fighters, but for regular Americans who have nothing to do with the racket...

Of course if a Carry Group were to be destroyed by any kind of a nuke the country that delivered the nuke, with in minutes, would be totally destroyed, just by the Carrier Groups Own surrounding "Boomers"/Nulcear armed subs. In addition a carrier group can defend its self against "in coming" very well and simply is not easily "destroyed" Once again you are pretty much talking out of your "military ass".

sure sure you would launch an attack in retaliation against a nation that has 4000 nukes

pooty can literally fire a nuke at your terrorist "Carrier group" for fun and there would be shit the USA could do except bring about a global nuclear winter...you are heavily delusional if you think you can do shit except wipe out life on earth completely...

this is why I hope everybody has nukes soon...to keep you thugs away

Simple: US Defense protects the US economy!

Any employed American owes it to the DoD.

After WWII, Europe and Asia were destroyed. This left the USA as the only economic powerhouse left. That caused a period of great prosperity.

It still happens today.

Some country threatens US oil supply? Lower oil supply would increase transportation costs, which would increase the price of almost all physical goods, which would hurt the economy. US Carriers away! Oil supplies saved, and the economy carries on.

The US is the #1 economy in the world (see https://www.investopedia.com/article...-economies.asp ).

Jobs are a vital part of life and, if jobs go away, the populace would demand politicians to do something. The American way to do it is with the military.

Don't believe me? Check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panama...es_acquisition . The US wanted shorter logistic routes and created Panama, the country and the canal.

So, yeah, the average American can pay $X,XXX/year to help keep him/her earning $XX,XXX/year. Last thing he/she would want is to get paid less (or not have a job anymore) because some resource is now controlled by another country and being used to benefit that other country's economy.

So basically you are criminals who control other people's property and resources? Like the Cripps or bloods? I am having a hard time seeing the difference...

And this implies that it's ok for the strong to force the weak? So the weak should bacteria/nuke up?

Just trying to understand the mindset that is "the American way"

No. Nuclear proliferation is not a good idea nor would it be a way to reduce US influence.

No, we're not criminals. It's OK under international law (see Uphold International Law | United Nations ).

If the USA broke an international law, then that'll be criminal. Until then, it's just your opinion.

Yes, its totally fine for the strong and powerful to take advantage and exploit the weak for their own benefit.

It's been happening since the beginning of mankind.

You probably enjoy many benefits from it too.

For example, look at slavery. Back then, society needed laborers and slaves were a good way of getting stuff done. Today's society got here thanks to slave labor powering the way.

So, yeah, inequality is just an inherent human condition. If you think otherwise, someone's taking advantage of you or manipulating you.

I think he was talking in the real world sense not in the made up play area of your mind. Lol. We have tons of weapons that are no longer relavent does that makes us strong or stupid? North Korea can get pretty much anything they want from us. Sort of makes them smart in allocating their resources.

This is the difference between me and you... I would never support "legal" theft or control of your resources...I believe in humanity and compassion...if the USA does not want to sell something to my country then this is your right...if the USA does not want to do anything with my country I also believe that this is your right...maybe one day you will reconsider...

You reap what you sow...you are making people react and arm the nuclear fuck up...case in point n.korea...once farmers...now nuclear and shit crazy...in the next 10-20 years more countries will be nuclear or bacterially capable...if you think your actions will not have negative reactions I give you the middle East as an example...they WILL have nukes or bacteria sooner or later...or something else...sure the USA will be able to destroy the world 18642789x over...but just 1x is enough...the world is finite in area...it does not expand but tech does...

The US army is a gang...it runs a racket that is financially motivated...the bill will come due...

you plan on shipping all your troops and vehicles and planes off to battle via submarine?
you can blow up all you want from a couch with your nuke plan, but you aren't going to be able to invade shit without a significant navy transport fleet...

An army without transport is nothing more than a bee hive and about as much of a threat.

There is also more than 5,000 aboard the ship and there are women in the ships crew as well as the aircrew and women, in reality, are always available.

I know a few women in the UK forces and they are definatly not available to men - It wasn't a serious comment anyway - It was a light hearted comment about all those men with not much to do in a confined space...

Of course not. If the States will dare to use nukes against Russia, China or even India, they will be burned out in about 30 minutes. No one will survive. Even in bunkers. So I don't think that a tactical nuke attack on the US aircraft carrier group will trigger a mutual ICBM strike, because it will mean a total annihilation of the United States and all NATO countries.

Also even non-nuke cruise missiles are able to sink a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier just easily. This is how old good non-nuclear SS-N-22 Sunburns made in 1982 work:

The modern Russian missiles like SS-N-26 Strobile, SS-N-27 Sizzler and SSC-6 Sennight let zero chances to survive to any type of the US aircraft carriers. Just compare a price of a cruise missile and a price of a whole aircraft carrier with 3000 men aboard. Now tell me you didn't know that

Once again: your aircraft carriers are cool, but they are dinosaurs in 21st century. Course they could work fine against stone-age countries like Somalia or Yemen, but not against Russia, China or India. They will be sunk in minutes with a minimum effort. All the mentioned countries have a lot of cheap-ass shipwreck cruise missiles that are undetectable and uninterceptable, because they fly on almost a zero attitude with an ultrasonic speed. Boom and there is no "Abraham Lincoln" with all its crew. These missiles are very cheap and extremely reliable nowadays. Sad but true.

A world's biggest dick does look like this:

It's absolutely uninterceptable and such a single dick is able to destroy whole Texas or the Great Britain + Paris at once.

I like your comparison with a big dick

The USA have no dick to be compared with old good SS-18 Satan while Russia is currently upgrading to SS-X-30 Satan-2 - the new generation of the largest and most deadly nuclear missile in the World's history. No other country on the planet has a technology to make something similar.

The most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated was "King of bombs". But it was just a bomb. Now the same 50 megaton nuke can be delivered with a single Satan-2 ICBM to any place on Earth. A big dick you say? LOL )))
